Roseville

ROSEVILLE CEDAR HEIGHTS (ROSEV) Minimum order quantity is 10 lbs.

History:
In the mid 80's, Cedar Heights' Goldart was full of sulfur and iron. We
worked to improve that, which we did, but wanted to look at other options. We
looked at the #3 from Roseville, and found it to be very low sulfur, very low
iron, a bit shorter in plasticity, and lower firing temperature. It cost a bit
more because it was 90 miles away, but was a great clay. We ground it straight
to a 200 mesh. Steve

Description and Applications

AMTAL C-98 is a white-firing talc that is ideal for
traditional, refractory and technical ceramic applications.
Traditional applications include:

• Wall and Floor Tiles

• Ti02<--0.1 %
• K20<--0.3 %
• Quartz<-- 1%

• Loss On Ignition - 1000°C10%-12%

As a flux in high alumina ceramics, Sanitary ware and
dinnerware, AMTAL C-98 produces less porous bodies
at lower temperatures.

AMTAL C-98 can also be used in technical ceramics
where it functions as the major silicate material
replacing clays and feldspars in lower grade alumina
products such as steatite ceramics and low-expansion
cordierite materials.
AMTAL C-98 can also be used as an economical source
ofMgO.
